Overview

1989 could be their year...  If the team weren't a hot, stinking pile of garbage.  Coming of age within a few miles of the site of the 1692 Salem Witch Trials, the eleven senior members of the Danvers High School Varsity field hockey team willingly sell their souls when they discover that “doing bad things” translates into winning games. The more they explore their darkest impulses, the more covenly connected the teammates become to each other … and the more they discover about themselves.  A musical adaptation of Quan Barry’s novel of the same name, We Ride Upon Sticks celebrates the delicious and terrifying power of teen femmehood.
